Song Contest Rules
1. Enter as many songs as you like. There is a $10.00 Submission Fee per song.
2. Enter by uploading your mp3's online at Broadjam
3. The ten categories are; World / Latin, Blues, Jazz, Instrumental, Electronic / New Age, Pop/Rock, Spoken Word, Folk, Country / C & W, Gospel/Inspirational
4. The writer retains all rights to songs submitted. However, MSG reserves the right to use winning songs for promotional purposes (i.e. a compilation CD). If your song is chosen for the compilation you will be provided a number of CD's equal to your statutory rate. Only the principle writers name (i.e. the person who enters the contest) will receive billing for the song on future CD's and MSG's website.
5. Proceeds from the contest will go towards prizes and to help fund future MSG sponsored activities.
6. The contest is open to all. MSG officers, and their immediate family are not eligible for entry in this competition.
7. Because songs are a creative work, the evaluation of the entries is clearly subjective. The opinions of the judges are final.
8. Entries that do not comply with contest rules and requirements will not be accepted and the entry fee will be forfeited.
How the Midwest Song Contest Songs Are Judged.
Judging will be done on two levels, online peer review with the final ranking determined by local and national judges selected for their documented expertise in each particular genre.
The Number One song in each category will advance to the final round of judging.
The $500 Grand Prize Winner will be selected from the ten category winners.
Final results will be posted on midwestsongcontest.com no later then June 17, 2007.
